my very dear friend that i met in india (and my now almost neighbour) wanted to get a tattoo, and i thought to myself; why don’t i get one too? i mean, it’s just one tiny one, i won’t want anymore! *sigh*, the lies we tell ourselves.

during the session, i felt that there was more to it than just ink in my skin. sadly, i felt that the session was rushed, they didn’t listen to me and my voice didn’t matter, because “they were the artists, so they knew better“.

it made me realise how much the experience of the tattoo matters and not just the final result of the tattoo.

my life went on, 2 years went by, challenges came and went, and one day, during a shift when i was a café manager, the sweetest woman walked up to order a coffee. she had the most beautiful tattoo and i asked her about the artist who had made them - which funnily enough turned out to be herself!

i couldn’t resist asking her for a tattoo and during the session i felt so safe - it was a completely different feeling than the experience i had in india.

and then it hit me - tattoos have the opportunity to change us profoundly - to mark rites of passage, difficult events, happy memories and everything in between.

after a few years of thinking about it, dropping out of uni (turns out italian language and culture didn’t quite fulfill my creative and entrepreneurial side), i started doing hand poked tattoos and absolutely loved it! so i made a decision of at least trying to see if this was the path ment for me in this life.

i really wanted to combine spirituality with tattooing - a combination i myself hadn’t seen around at the time.

in 2021 i got accepted into the glyptotek's school of classical drawing in copenhagen.

when i finished the course i applied for an apprenticeship and started tattooing with machine only a short time after.

it took me what felt like ages to find my tattoo style but now i’ve found my happiness in spiritual fine line ornaments. and here we are, several years later, now living in gorgeous bondi beach, australia transforming beautiful souls through soulful art.

i have realised throughout my journey, the profound meaning tattoos and the tattoo experience have on us. through working with my clients i have seen the transformation tattoos can give - the safety, the reminders and the experience of having a tattoo artist that actually listens to you and your needs.

that is why i chose to become a tattoo artist; to give people the best tattoo experience that i didn’t have when i got my first and to ensure that every piece is hand crafted based on your unique story through tools such as your astrology and numerology chart.

so why the name miss kali tattoos? you see, throughout the years of my yoga journey, certain aspects of living, certain mantras and yantras would hit something deep within me - we’re talking chills down my spine. i dug deeper, and every time i looked into the things that resonated with me on a cosmic plane, were all connected to the hindu goddess kali. kali is the goddess associated with time, death and destruction. she is also connected with transcendental knowledge. she is black - not because she is evil but because she takes in all evil, to remove it from the world. she doesn’t dance like wind - she is the wind. she isn’t wild like the wild - she is the wilderness itself. she embodies everything raw feminine - the wilderness we all carry inside. i could go on and on, but i highly recommend you reading the stories; i still cry to this day when i hear it.

and so, knowing that all of these stories, mantras, yantras and ways of living all came down to the entity of kali, i decided to devote my life’s work to her. every tattoo i make and every person i connect with in my work, i dedicate the energy to her. and without sounding to woo-woo, my life has changed profoundly after connecting with the raw, dark and uncut feminine aspect and i wish to share the energy with all women, so that we can live authentically in our raw feminine energy that we all carry.

as you can probably tell, yoga is a big part of my life and has turned out to work perfectly with my choice of tattoo style. as i’ve practiced yoga for 8 years, completed my 200hr yoga teacher certificate, and currently studying my certificate IV in yoga followed by a diploma in advanced yoga, it is safe to say, that i have chosen a very holistic approach to my tattoo sessions through including my client’s astrology and numerology charts.
