There are days when my mind is loud.
Not in a dramatic way—just that subtle buzzing that happens when life is full, when you’ve been holding a lot, when your nervous system has been “on” for a little too long.
And because my work is so intimate—because tattooing is presence—I’ve had to learn how to come back into my body quickly and gently.
One of the fastest ways I know is scent.
Scent bypasses the overthinking. It speaks directly to the nervous system. It can shift the whole atmosphere of a moment.
THE TINY RITUAL I USE (and share with clients)
Before a session, I’ll often take a quiet moment to ground.
And yes — Doterra oils are included in my tattoo sessions as one of the grounding tools available to you, if you’d like them. It’s never forced, never “woo-woo” pressure—just a supportive option.
Because sometimes the most healing thing isn’t a big breakthrough. It’s a deep breath.
My 60-second scent reset
If you want to try a simple ritual that takes less than a minute:
Choose one oil you’re drawn to (trust your body’s “yes”).
Place a drop in your palms (or diffuse if that’s your preference).
Close your eyes.
Inhale for 4… hold for 2… exhale for 6.
Ask yourself: What do I need right now?
That’s it. No perfection. Just presence.
WHY I RECOMMEND IT
I’m careful with what I bring into my home and studio space. When I recommend something, it’s because it’s become part of my real life—something I reach for consistently.
For me, essential oils are not about “fixing” you. They’re about supporting you.
They’re a gentle reminder to breathe deeper, soften your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and return to the present.
